“The State” on Spitfire EP
Rothbard dubstep from libertarian DJ Porter Robinson! This is magnificent. I’m going to buy it 10 times.
I can’t actually quite get my head round this.
What an absolute load of shit. It’s the same as all the other bastardized skrillexesque brostep wank.
‘Dubstep’ is a genre which grew out of grime, UK garage and dub in South London, and has very anti-libertarian undertones.
Heard of Kode9 and the Spaceape? I’m not going to say they’re socialists or whatever, they’re not. But listen to Fukkaz.
“To all them fucking people, who say charity begin at home, look upon the state of your home”.
Music cannot be ideological for the sake of being ideological. There are no ‘libertarian’ themes in this music, there are no lyrics. Just calling it libertarian doesn’t embody anything.
Fucking Americans man. Fucking Americans, ruining and bastardizing everything for their own capitalist, hegemonic tendencies.
_____________
Oh and a little edit here - listen to “Earth a kill ya” by King Midas Sound. There’s nothing blatantly ideological (like the genre of this track… which doesn’t define it as music whatsoever… and has no reference to anything remotely philosophical) about it, but the lyrics are anti-capitalist.
“You cannot sell the Earth profit”
